Compassionate advocacy for individuals and families navigating new or complex healthcare journeys
Emphasizing the Care in Healthcare
Getting a new, frightening, or complex medical diagnosis, living with a chronic disease, or caring for a loved one far away is already disconcerting and overwhelming. Navigating the complexities of the healthcare system to get the answers you need only adds to it. Individuals and families should never have to do it alone.
I am a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) focused on demystifying the system through good communication, empathy and asking the right questions – to help you understand your options and receive the care that best fits your needs.
The purpose is simple
Elevating What Matters Most to You

Your Independent Patient Advocate
Laura Trimingham, MD, BCPA
I studied Psychology at the University of Washington and got my MD from Tufts University School of Medicine. I intended to do my residency in pediatrics, but my own kids came along, and I shifted my focus to raising them.
I’ve always worked healthcare-adjacent in one way or another, working as a healthcare consultant and medical writer over the years, in addition to financial communications. All of this has taught me how to listen carefully, dig for the information that really matters, solve problems creatively, and explain complicated things in ways that make sense.
Somewhere along the way, I became the person family and friends called when healthcare got confusing or overwhelming. I discovered how much I love helping people through those challenging times—not only understanding and finding the care they needed, but also feeling better about the process. Those conversations kept happening, and eventually I realized this was what I wanted to do. I became a board certified patient advocate and Beehive was launched.
